Japan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Banking and Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. (TYO:5801), which rose 6.31% or 428.00 points to trade at 7,206.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Tokuyama Corp. (TYO:4043) added 6.01% or 170.00 points to end at 2,998.00 and Shiseido Co., Ltd. (TYO:4911) was up 5.94% or 137.00 points to 2,441.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd. (TYO:9064), which fell 1.83% or 36.50 points to trade at 1,960.50 at the close. Fujifilm Holdings Corp. (TYO:4901) declined 1.77% or 57.00 points to end at 3,161.00 and TOTO Ltd. (TYO:5332) was down 1.69% or 63.00 points to 3,660.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2153 to 1370 and 322 ended unchanged.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 2.07% to 24.57.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.38% or 0.24 to $63.17 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.34% or 0.22 to hit $65.41 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 6.37 to trade at $3,383.47 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was down 0.08% to 143.86, while EUR/JPY rose 0.01% to 163.70.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 99.14.
