
Japan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate, Banking and Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 rose 1.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Keisei Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (TYO:9009), which rose 5.77% or 77.00 points to trade at 1,412.00 at the close.
Meanwhile, Lasertec Corp (TYO:6920) added 4.98% or 705.00 points to end at 14,865.00 and CyberAgent Inc (TYO:4751) was up 4.51% or 64.00 points to 1,481.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. (TYO:3099), which fell 4.39% or 97.50 points to trade at 2,123.00 at the close.
Ricoh Co., Ltd. (TYO:7752) declined 2.75% or 40.50 points to end at 1,432.50 and J.Front Retailing Co., Ltd. (TYO:3086) was down 2.51% or 52.00 points to 2,016.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2375 to 1221 and 263 ended unchanged.
Shares in CyberAgent Inc (TYO:4751) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.51% or 64.00 to 1,481.50.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 3.62% to 24.48.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.33% or 0.20 to $61.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.26% or 0.17 to hit $64.38 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.87% or 29.49 to trade at $3,365.01 a
USD/JPY was up 0.15% to 142.78, while EUR/JPY rose 0.53% to 162.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 98.72.
