
Japan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Power, Rubber and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 gained 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the Nikkei 225 were Mitsubishi Electric Corp (TYO:6503), which rose 6.30% or 161.50 points to trade at 2,723.00 at the close.
Meanwhile, Concordia Financial Group Ltd (TYO:7186) added 5.91% or 52.90 points to end at 947.30 and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (TYO:7011) was up 5.40% or 125.00 points to 2,440.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lasertec Corp (TYO:6920), which fell 5.35% or 810.00 points to trade at 14,340.00 at the close. Subaru Corp (TYO:7270) declined 4.65% or 135.00 points to end at 2,769.00 and Advantest Corp. (TYO:6857) was down 4.65% or 368.00 points to 7,553.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2508 to 1062 and 270 ended unchanged.
The Nikkei Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 11.79% to 28.16 a new 3-months high.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.09% or 0.06 to $66.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.10% or 0.07 to hit $69.63 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.15% or 4.39 to trade at $2,916.51 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.44% to 148.43, while EUR/JPY rose 0.15% to 161.61.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 103.67.
