US Shutdown: Why It's Not Over Yet.

Shutdown pemerintah AS sudah masuk hari ke-22 (22 Oktober 2025), menjadikannya kedua terpanjang dalam sejarah. Di Senat, pemungutan suara untuk membuka kembali pemerintahan sudah 11 kali gagal, sehingga kebuntuan makin panjang.

Presiden Donald Trump menyatakan baru akan bertemu pimpinan Demokrat setelah pemerintah dibuka kembali, sementara kubu Republik mulai mengakui bahwa perlu ada RUU pendanaan sementara (CR) untuk keluar dari situasi ini.

Dampaknya makin terasa ke layanan publik penting. Lembaga peradilan federal mulai merumahkan (furlough) pegawai karena dana cadangan habis; sebelumnya mereka sempat bertahan dengan biaya non-anggaran.

Badan nuklir NNSA (penjaga kesiapan stokpile) juga memangkas besar-besaran tenaga kerja non-esensial agar operasi keselamatan inti tetap jalan. Ini menunjukkan shutdown tak lagi sekadar "politik anggaran", tapi sudah mengganggu fungsi negara dari pengadilan hingga keamanan strategis.

Ke ekonomi, Gedung Putih memperkirakan PDB bisa tergerus ~US$15 miliar per minggu jika kebuntuan berlanjut belanja rumah tangga turun, bisnis menunda keputusan, dan ketidakpastian menyebar.

Di sisi proses politik, pakar anggaran menegaskan bahwa selama belum ada UU alokasi atau CR yang ditandatangani presiden, lembaga-lembaga harus mengehentikan fungsi non-esensial sesuai aturan Antideficiency Act. Itulah sebabnya rilis data ekonomi dan layanan publik banyak yang tersendat.
