Shanghai Composite Little Changed; China Life Leads

The Shanghai Composite Index is advancing slightly to 3,253.09 in Shanghai in early trading.

China Life Insurance Co. contributed the most to the index gain, increasing 3.7 percent. Yueyang Forest & Paper Co. had the largest increase, rising 10.0 percent.

In early trading, 604 of 1,506 shares rose, while 799 fell; 4 of 5 sectors were higher, led by conglomerate stocks.
