BOJ Keeps Policy Rate, Allows Flexibility in Bond Operations

The Bank of Japan maintains its 10-year bond yield target at about zero percent, while saying it would allow more flexibility in bond operations, after its meeting Tuesday.

BOJ keeps policy balance rate at -0.100%.

None of the economists surveyed from July 17-20 predicted a change in the policy rate.

The central bank also downgraded its inflation outlook.
