Ekonomi Australia Berekspansi Kurang Dari Yang Diperkirakan; Mata Uang Turun

Ekonomi Australia berekspansi kurang dari yang diperkirakan dalam tiga bulan hingga September di tengah konsumsi yang lamban dan seiring konstruksi komersial menurun. Mata uang merosot hampir setengah sen AS.

Produk domestik bruto naik 0,3 persen dari kuartal kedua dibandingkan estimasi median ekonom sebesar 0,6 persen; ekonomi tumbuh 2,8 persen dari tahun sebelumnya dibandingkan dengan perkiraan 3,3 persen, kata biro statistik di Sydney, Rabu.

Rasio tabungan rumah tangga turun menjadi 2,4 persen dari revisi 2,8 persen; belanja rumah tangga naik 0,3 persen dari kuartal sebelumnya.

Pengeluaran pemerintah untuk jalan, jembatan dan kereta api telah mendukung perekonomian; pihak otoritas meningkatkan proyek infrastruktur untuk mengejar populasi yang semakin meluas; imigrasi tinggi telah menjadi faktor ekonomi kunci lainnya.

Sisi negatifnya adalah proyek tersebut bertepatan dengan tahap akhir dari booming pembangunan perumahan seiring sektor publik dan swasta bersaing untuk mendapatkan tenaga kerja - yang memaksa beberapa pembangun perumahan untuk membatalkan proyek karena biaya yang berlebihan di pasar properti yang melemah.
