Inflasi Inti Australia Lebih Lemah Dari Prakiraan di Kuartal Ketiga

Inflasi inti tahunan Australia lebih lemah dari perkiraan dalam tiga bulan hingga September, menunjukkan jeda suku bunga jangka panjang bank sentral telah berjalan lebih jauh.

Inflasi rata-rata kuartalan, indeks inti utama, naik 0,4% vs sekitar 0,4%; annual trimmed mean tahunan 1,8% vs perkiraan 1,9%.

Indeks harga konsumen triwulanan, atau inflasi utama, naik 0,4% vs perkiraan 0,5%; CPI tahunan meningkat 1,9% vs perkiraan 1,9%.

Indeks median tertimbang kuartalan, yang juga indeks inti, naik 0,3% vs perkiraan 0,4%, sementara indeks tahunan naik 1,7% vs perkiraan 1,9%.

Dolar Aussie berada di level 70,93 sen AS pada pukul 11:33 pagi dari level 71,02 sen sebelum laporan.

Australia berada pada tahun keempat dari inflasi yang lemah, dengan harga utama hanya didorong oleh lonjakan minyak: Minyak mentah Brent rata-rata 45 persen lebih tinggi dalam tiga bulan hingga September dibandingkan periode yang sama tahun sebelumnya. Gubernur Philip Lowe mengharapkan harga konsumen hanya akan secara bertahap kembali ke titik tengah target Bank Reserve Australia sebesar 2-3 persen karena ekonomi bergulat dengan upah yang lemah yang telah menjadi kutukan bagi sebagian besar negara maju.

Lowe mengandalkan akselerasi dalam pertumbuhan upah karena efek dari penggerak inflasi baru-baru ini - tembakau dan listrik - mulai berkurang. Pembuat kebijakan percaya pada tingkat rekor kas rendah 1,5 persen untuk membantu meningkatkan perekrutan dan mengencangkan pasar pekerjaan; pedagang melihat sedikit peluang kenaikan di tahun depan.
