Trump Tuding Palestina Tidak Hormati AS

Presiden Amerika Serikat Donald Trump meragukan pembicaraan perdamaian antara Israel dan Palestina akan bisa dimulai kembali. Ia menyampaikan pernyataannya itu dalam pertemuan dengan Perdana Menteri Benjamin Netanyahu di Forum Ekonomi Dunia di Davos, Swiss. Reporter VOA Henry Ridgwell melaporkan dari London, Presiden Trump dijadwalkan akan menyampaikan pidato yang ditunggu-tunggu pada sesi penutupan konferensi itu, Jumat (26/1).

Beberapa jam setelah helikopter kepresidenan Amerika Serikat Marine One mendarat, Donald Trump menggelar strategi diplomasinya blak-blakan yang menjadi ciri khasnya. Ia meragukan pembicaraan perdamaian Timur Tengah akan dimulai kembali dan mengancam akan memangkas dana bantuan untuk Palestina.

œDana itu tersedia, dan dana itu tidak akan sampai ke Palestina kecuali mereka bersedia merundingkan perdamaian. Karena, saya bisa katakan, Israel ingin berdamai, dan Palestina seharusnya juga demikian. Jika tidak, kami akan terpaksa lepas tangan.

Sebelumnya, Presiden Trump membantah apa yang menurutnya gosip palsu bahwa ia berselisih pendapat dengan PM Inggris Theresa May. Trump malah menjanjikan akan mendongkrak perdagangan setelah Inggris keluar dari Uni Eropa.

Ada kekhawatiran bahwa diplomasi Donald Trump yang mendahulukan Amerika akan mengguncang sistem global yang menyokong KTT Davos.
