BOE Pertahankan Suku Bunga Tidak Berubah Seiring Ketidakpastian Brexit Meningkat

Bank of England mengatakan ketidakpastian seputar perceraian Inggris dari Uni Eropa semakin meningkat seiring mereka memutuskan untuk mempertahankan suku bunga tidak berubah.

Komite Kebijakan Moneter bank, yang dipimpin oleh Gubernur Mark Carney, memberikan suara 9-0 untuk mempertahankan suku bunga acuan sebesar 0,75 persen. Semua kecuali satu dari 61 ekonom dalam survei Bloomberg dengan tepat memprediksi keputusan hari Kamis ini.

"Prospek ekonomi yang lebih luas akan terus bergantung secara signifikan pada inti dari perceraian dengan Uni Eropa," risalah pertemuan menyebutkan. "Respons kebijakan moneter untuk Brexit, apa pun bentuknya, tidak akan otomatis dan bisa berada di arah mana pun."

BOE juga bergulat dengan cara keluar dari tahun kebijakan ultra longgar bersama dengan bank-bank sentral terbesar di dunia. The Federal Reserve pada hari Rabu mengangkat biaya pinjaman sambil memangkas prospek untuk kenaikan lebih banyak tahun depan. Bank of Japan mempertahankan kebijakannya tidak berubah pada hari Kamis. Swedia menaikkan suku bunga acuannya untuk pertama kalinya sejak 2011.
