Thursday, 14 June 2018 15:15 WIB | CURRENCIES |poundPoundsterling

The pound gained ahead of U.K. retail-sales report, the latest release in a data-heavy week that has seen the currency weighed down by signs the economy could remain sluggish in the second quarter.

Sterling gains 0.2% to $1.3399; it™s little changed at 88.18 pence per euro. Retail sales data for May due at 9:30 a.m., with sales ex-auto fuel seen growing 2.5% y/y.

The U.K. housing market stayed stuck in a rut in May as activity and prices remained broadly flat, according to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
